Ole is traveling from Land, Norway, with his wife and three daughters, settling in Rock Prairie, WI, where Karen and the girls sadly died in the cholera epidemic of 1849. Ole's brother is also onboard, passenger #8 Morten Monson from Helgerud, listed simply as Morten Helgerud. Another brother Hans Monson came across on a different ship, settling near Ole, whereas Morten settled and helped form a new town of Akan, WI.
