Lars Helgesen Rye was born Feb. 27, 1841. He was the son of Helge Larsen Rye and Astri Olsdatter. Source: Nord Aurdal Parish records, Oppland, Norway.
Lars married Inge Olsdatter Thon (spelled Thone in United States) who was born Oct. 29, 1861. Inga was from the same area as Lars. Inga went by the name of Emma in the United States. Lars and Emma lived from 1880 until they both passed away in the Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa area. Source: United States Census
Lars passed away on Jan. 20, 1929 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa and Emma died Aug. 19, 1928 and is also buried in the same cemetery. Source: Online cemetery records.
