Erik Olsen Klevmoen, along with his wife Karine Torgersdatter and son Ole made their way to Meridean, WI where Erik was engaged in the lumbering business until he made enough money to buy land. Meridean was located in the Rock Creek Township of Dunn County. This lumbering town eventually became part of Happy Island when flooding cut across the land to create this island. Erik and Karine's farm was also located on this island.
