Pianist. She gave a concert in December, 1843, at the Tabernacle, a theater in New York City. According to advertisements in the press, Gjertz was the appointed pianist to the King of Denmark. She was one of the first pianists who gave a public performance of a piece by Chopin (a waltz) in the United States.
