From Haslam, "The Norwegian Experience with Mormonism, 1842-1920," p. 396:
"Endre Salvesen Lindland (Dahl) [Andrew Dahl]: Christened 25 April 1784 Sogndal, Rogaland, Norway; son of Salve Endresen Lindland and Siri Abrahamsdatter (Rosdail 176). Left his farm, Lindland, 1821 and brought his wife, Bertha Mortensdatter Eikeland, and five children to Stavanger. Probably had connections with Quakers in Stavanger. One of the "Sloopers" on the ship "Restoration" 1825 (his wife was eight months pregnant and decided to remain behind with the agreement that she and children would come to America at a later date) and served as ship's cook. (Ibid. 10, 28). [According to family tradition, his first wife, Bertha, remarried in Norway as per information brought by Endre's son, Salve, who came to New York about 1828 (Ibid. 97)]. Married the widow, Anna Johanna Jonsdatter Helland (Hervik), 1832 Kendall, New York (Ibid. 57) and had two children by her (Ibid. 199-200). Joined five other families for the move to Fox River, Illinois 1834 (Ibid. 66) and was converted a Mormon by George P. Dykes about March 1842 as were his stepsons, Svend and John. Traveled to Nauvoo after his conversion to give Joseph Smith one hundred sheep and cattle and money from Norwegian Mormons for building the Nauvoo Temple. Was a guest in Nauvoo of the Prophet Joseph Smith and held a lengthy conversation with him (Ibid. 105). Received a patriarchal blessing 27 May 1845 Nauvoo (ECIF) and was a High Priest in the Mormon Priesthood when he took out his endowment at Nauvoo Temple 27 January 1846 (NR 205). Decided to follow the apostate, James J. Strang, of Voree, Wisconsin April 1846 (Rosdail 125), but reconsidered and pledged to follow Brigham Young to Utah January 1848. Arrived Great Salt Lake Valley 31 October 1849 [sic] with the Norwegian Company and moved to Dry Creek (Lehi), Utah County, Utah 1851. Died and buried Lehi, Utah, Utah about 1860 (Ibid. 125-26, 175, 177-78, 181)."

Andrew Dahl arrived in the Salt Lake Valley in the Heber C. Kimball Company, June 7, 1848. His step-son, Christopher Jacobs arrived in October 1847; his wife and son and step-sons arrived in 1849.
