The name should be spelled SKARTLIEN, This would be Marthinus Syversen Skartlien, born 1837. He and Peder Skinderlien (listed with him) had originally planned to leave in 1858, and they are listed in the parish record as intending to emigrate that year, but did not. There is strong evidence to suggest that on this voyage of the ANNA DELIUS in 1866, somebody went to Quebec in place of Marthinus, and that he never left Norway ever. He is listed at a nephew's baptism in mid July 1866 at Aamot Church, only 5 weeks after the arrival in Quebec, then got married the next year.
