Additional information

Fredrick Wiste (23.10.2010)

Thor Iverson Wiste is the brother of Ole Wiste, Anders Wiste, Thomas Wiste and Iver Wiste. All are from Vaage, Gudbrandsdalen (Gulbrandsdalen) Norway. There is a Gudbrandsdalen (but I cannot find "Gulbrandsdalen" in Norway so I believe the spelling is incorrect as listed.

Jeffrey Mark Wisted (31.01.2012)

My great grandfather is Anders Iversen Wisted, (born 1849) brother of Thor, emigrated in 1875 and settled in farmland northwest of Sacred Heart, Minnesota. Birth/Baptism records can be found for all brothers (and sisters) in the Vaga Stave Church byggdebok records.

Jeffrey Mark Wisted (15.02.2012)

Correction in above comments: Anders Iversen Wisted emigrated in 1871. There are two documents in my posession which conflicted on the date. The oldest document filed in Hennepin County, Minnesota, in 1875 states his arrival was about June 15, 1871.
