This database contains a list of ships known (by us) to have departed from Norway with emigrants.

You can brows the index year by year. In the index pages you will be able to navigate to the previous year, or next year without having to go back to this page again. Where you se icons in the "Details" column, you can click to get more information (see below). For some years and harbors we have included information about the agents who were authorized to sell tickets for different companies. In some cases you will also find a list of additional ships which did not depart directly from Norway.

Type Ship   Departure   Details Arrival   ID   Kind of ship: S/S = steamship Bark (Barque), Schooner or Brig - tells you how the ship was rigged - a Ship (or Frigate) = a full rigged sailing ship. In many cases you will find a link to more information about the term given. This column gives the name of the ship, clicking on the link takes you to a page with more information about the ship, and in some cases a picture The port(s) of departure Links to passenger lists or sailing lists, se description of icons below The final destination of the voyage Tis column is just for administative use by the database administrators

 - Leads to additional departure or arrival information - sailing lists
 - When you spot this icon on the ship info page, clicking it will take you to the passenger list
 - Provides details about the corresponding ships when discovered in the sailing lists for feeder ships
= Confirmed connection
 - clicking this icon sorts the results by departure or arrival post or by name of ship
