Norwegian Settlement

A number of Norwegians, probably from Western Norway, also settled in Boone County, although the Norwegian population was relatively small. Swedish immigrants formed the more prominent Scandinavian settlement in the county.

By 1900, Boone County had three Norwegian congregations and two churches. One congregation belonged to the United Church and another to Hauge’s Synod.
