Early Norwegian Settlement
In the vicinity of Logan, where a comparatively large Norwegian settlement developed, Ole Hamsmonen from Øvrebø Parish was the first, or at least among the very first, Norwegian settlers. He came to Logan in 1856 and was a follower of Joseph Smith. By 1905, most of his children still lived in the area.
Religious Life
The majority of the Norwegian population in the Logan area belonged to the Mormon Church. There was also a Norwegian Methodist congregation.
