Norwegian Settlement at Queen Anne Prairie
In 1843, Iver Anderson Rødne arrived with his family and five other Norwegian families at Queen Anne Prairie near Woodstock, where they established themselves. Four of the six families, including Anderson’s, came from the Stavanger region, while the other two were from Voss. By the time of the account, very few Norwegians remained in the area.
