Norwegian Presence near Creston and Rochelle
A number of Norwegians lived in and around Creston, many of them apparently from the Hardanger, Bergen, and Kristiansand regions. The Norwegian community at Creston had a congregation and church belonging to Hauge’s Synod. A few Norwegian families also lived at Rochelle, where pastors from the Norwegian Synod had served the community.
