Abels in Brooklyn

Johan Henrik M Abel b.1862 in NO Vefsn arrived Oct 1887 with wife Martha Pernelle Martinusdatter Madsen b.1864 MR Kvernes. In Brooklyn for 5 yrs & then Eliz, NJ to work at Singer. Anyone know what church Norwegians would have gone to in Brooklyn at that time? Also, looking to confirm Margit Abel's birthdate--Jan 1888 in Brooklyn? Anyone know of any Abels (or Lossius's) from this area in Norway in Brooklynm at same time or prior to 1887? Thanks
