Alternate European ports for Danish emigrants?

The Danish Emigration on-line records record passengers as departing "directe" (from Copenhagen to US) or "indirecte" meaning those who departed from other European ports. What ports were likely for Danish emigrants 1875-1892 and would they have traveled by train to those ports since no ship name is given for the term "indirecte"? How would Danish get to Cuba? Thanks.
