Boarding school?

5 of the 9 children of my grandfather's cousin have the following notation in the 1922 census for Bergen: "Barn - Ulfsnæsøens Skollhjem Næsse i Alversund". 3 boys, 2 girls ages 8 to 17. Their last name: Skare. Næsse i Alversund, Hordaland is the rural area where their mother, my grandfather's cousin Brita Nilsdatter, was born. All these children were born in Bergen, where their father Erik Monsen Skare works as gasværksarbeider. So, probably low income. Could they be away at a boarding school?
