Carel Jacques Johannas Rittinger c 1839

Hi, I know this forebear of mine married in 1860 Oslo to Lovise Jensdr but I'm wondering if there is any way of finding out where he himself was born. His father is given as Franz Gysberdis Rittinger so might not be Norwegian. Carel emigrated to the UK where he said his birthplace was Surinam Dutch, Holland, and Denmark but who knows ??? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers John
