Carl Anderson Early 1900's to Australia

Hello, My namesake, Carl Anderson, was in the Norweigan Merchant Navy before he was discharged/resigned and lived in Australia. I believe he died in Sydney during the late 1940's and was probably born between 1890 and 1900, as he died in his mid to late 50's. I am guessing he was in the NMN during WW1 or the end of WW1. We know he was from Norway and was illiterate. But everything else is unknown. We are fairly certain that the spelling of his name is correct. I am curious to know more, please feel free to reply.
