Carl Martinius Christiansen

I believe that my great grandfather was a sailor and wondered if anyone could help me to locate his Norwegian shipping/military records. He is said to have gone to sea as a kitchen hand at 11 years of age and had signed off on his third voyage around the world as a merchant seaman. He was born in Stokke Vestfold in 1863. He disembarked in Melbourne Australia in 1887 and he stated he had arrived on the Matilda Sailing Barque but I have been unable locate records of this ship coming to Australia in around that time. Ian
