Carrie Jorgensen, Sept 1879, Sogn

Good morning! I am trying to find information about my paternal great grandmother & her family. I have her wedding certificate from Wisconsin in 1899 to my great grandfather, Willard Fisher, which says that here parents were Ole Jorgensen & Onie Pedersen. I believe she was from Sogn, born in Sept 1879. I believe I've found a census record showing her in 1895 in Minnesota working as, what the records call, a 'house girl' (I'd LOVE to know what that means!). I haven't been able to find any records of when she came here, if she came alone, if she has siblings, etc. I've been digging for nearly 10 years and all my clues turn up dead ends.
