"Charles Barry" Norway

Hi All Does anyone have any ideas of other avenues? My great grandfather is Charles Barry born 28 April 1851 Larvik Norway. I have heard his real name sounds like Carl Bergsted ( I sent letters to all my family who knew him). I have found his naturalization certificate and he was even naturalised as Charles Barry so no lead. He said he is a Norwegian who came to Australia from America in the year 1880 on the ship the Cheshire. No luck cannot locate this ship in the time frame. He states in various documents his mother is Christina Hansen/Hansten/Holstein and his father is Nils/Neils Barry or Neilson Barry. His fathers occupation has been listed on different documents as Farmer or Blacksmith. I am at a loss and wonder if anyone can give any suggestions? Thanks[?][:)]
