Death on the voyage to America

I was wondering if anyone knew how to find out what happened to a relative who died on the way to America. His name was Ole Berntsen. He was almost 2 years old, date of birth July 7,1871, father was Bernt Anderson and Mother was Karen M Christiansdatter. They left Norway April, 1871 on the PONTECORVO and on the way to Quebec he died. I cannot find any information if and where he was buried or maybe they bury them at sea in this case.
