Emigrating from Kristiansand via Hull, to the U.S. in 1905

My grandfather Sevard Svendsen/Olesen Braastad emigrated to the U.S. from Kristiansand (Feb 24, 1905) via Hull, England. I cannot find his port of departure from England (I assume Liverpool), nor can I find the port he arrived at in the the U.S. or Canada. He ended up in North Dakota, moving on to Canada at a later date. I am on Ancestry.ca and have run out of ideas how to find the missing information. The biggest problem is the different names he used. Braastad was the name of the farm (Ringebu area), Ole his father's name, Svend his grandfather's name. As well he went by a first name of Sever and Sigvart. Any ideas??
