Emigration from Bergen

My great grandfather and his family Thomas Knudsen Smelvaer, are registered as emigrants from Bergen on June 8, 1888. When looking at the Emigrant ships from Norway List for that period, the only agent listed for Bergen is C. A. Gundersen representing the Holland America Line. When reviewing the ships list, only two ships are noted as leaving Bergen and arriving at Hull, with no details available. In previous years some ships left Trondheim and stopped in several Norwegian ports including Bergen, enroute to Engalnd. I am trying to trace MY ggfathers voyage to America but do not know what route or arrival port he may have taken. I can surmise that he arrived in the USA or Canada between the 17th and 25th of June and can start my search as such, but I am interested in finding out more about the departures from Bergen during this time frame if possible. Can anybody help? P A Lenes
