På dette viset hadde han lagt seg opp sine 7000 kr "saa nu kan han leve rolig.A letter from Kenneth Holte (his father Knute O Holte, Lars' brother) says that Lars' traveled to the states with sisters Astri, Guri and brother Knute. I have not found an emigration date for Guri, but she was in Iowa in 1870. She's listed as Guri O Skrattegaard in the US Census. Assuming she traveled as Guri Olsen (Olson). The family moved to Traill, Dakota Territory from Iowa. Guri passed in 1880, Traill, Dakota Territory. Her dob is 4 Oct 1846 in Tveito, Aal. Guri's mother in law, Ingrid Larsdtr Skrattegaard emigrated in 1881 to care for the children in Mayville, Traill, ND. It's possible that Lar's traveled with Ingrid. Ingrid's dob is 16 Sep 1853 in Skrattegarden nordre, Aal. According to US census, Astri Olsdtr Tveito emigrated in 1885. She's listed in the 1885 Dakota Territory census as "Astrid Olsen;" a servant in Traill County. The name Astri Olsen Tvete was used on her childrens death certs. Her dob is 23 Sep 1858 in Tveito, Aal. Knute has an emigration date of 1893 -- Eden Valley, Renville, ND or Sherwood, Renville, ND. dob 16 Sep 1866 in Tveito, Aal. I'd be interesting to know if he did travel with all three siblings. Thanks in advance.
