farsund family- birth/baptism records

Well I spent 3 hrs going through microfilm at family history library and with no luck. I am trying to locate birth record for my father, Jacob Olaf Farsund (changed to Ludviksen) born 1903 in Farsund Norway. Would there be anywhere to write to obtain any birth records. I know these were kept by churches but didnt know if there was somewhere to write to obtain any records since I dont think they are all available online yet. Did they keep records in 1903, I would think so, since I was looking at older records on microfilm. I couldnt believe I didnt find anyone in our family on the film. There were people from Farsund, but no one I could relate to. Would appreciate any help or feedback. Thank you, Linda Eplin
