Finding ancestors

Hello, I am trying to find information on Hans V Danielson. I don't have much information on him. I know his family was from Christiana Norway. He was married to Martha Stavanger. They came to America in 1880 and settled in Fillmore Minnesota. The family story says that Hans jumped ship and deserted the military and his name was Vistad before Danielson. Thanks so much for you time, Theresa
