Hans Thorgersen b. 1849 Hofland farm, Tysnes

I am looking for Hans T. Hoff born Sept 1, 1850. According to family history his name was Hans Thorgerson and changed his name to Hans T Hoff when he left Norway (Hadeland?) at age 17. He did not tell his family he was leaving. He was one of eight children. Father's name Thor and mother was Marie. I have found a Hans Thorgersen b 1849 in the 1865 census. He is listed as born in Tysnes and is listed as living on Hofland Farm. His mother is Marta Samuelsdatter. All of this seems to fit the Hans I am looking for. I cannot find any of his family members after the 1865 census, nor can I find mention of a Hofland farm in Tysnes after 1865. Does anyone have any useful info?
