Help verifying Even Pohlsen

I live in Minnesota and have been doing genealogical research on my Norwegian relatives for about 2 years. I have a book written by a distant cousin that includes information on my family. It states that my second great grandfather Even Paulsen was born on 12/24/1829 at Veldre, Norway in the northern part of Hedemarken on his father's 80 acre farm named Ringsager. His father is listed as Paul Faraasen and his mother Siri. He was christened Even Paulsen it states in the book. I find records in Hedmark for Even Poulsen born to Poul Hansen and Siri Pedersdr on the date I have for his birth. I sense these are the same person, but the names do not quite match. Can you help me with this question please? Thank you
