I am researching 3 ancestors:
(#1) Peder Harboe Hertzberg (b. Kvinnherad, 15.7.1824; d. Kristiania, 24.1.1897), son of Peder Harboe Hertzberg (b.1.5.1775; d.27.10.1830) and his 2nd wife Hennige Dahl (b.1.5.1789; d.15.11.1874); #1 graduated 1844 from the Krigsscole, rose through the ranks to become Chief Engineer of the Norwegian Army;
(#2) his wife Anne Severine Lund (b. Farsund, 7.5.1827; d. Kristiania, 10.1.1918), 4th and last child of Jens Gabriel Michael Lund (b.c.1792; d.1843), a ship captain, and his wife (and cousin) Anna Margrethe Lund (b.2.1804; d.10.1862); and
(#3) their 2nd child Anton Lund Hertzberg (b. Horten, 30.4.1855; d. Toronto, 31.1.1920) who emigrated to Canada in May 1880.
#1 and #2 were married 17.5.1853 in Laerdal and had three other children:
Hennige Dorthea b. Horten, 4.4.1854; d. 8.2.1923
Halfdan b. K’ia, 7.2.1857; d. Stavanger, 5.7.1890
Bergliot b. K’ia, 10.5.1859; d. Oslo, 1.2.1930
Can anyone offer advice or help finding:
(a) the house(s) in Farsund in which #2 was born and/or lived
(b) marriage registration for #1 and #2 in Laerdal (were they married on the same day as #2’s elder sister Elisabeth was married to lensmann Johannes Frisak?)
(c) obituaries in K’ia newspapers for both #1 and #2
(d) burial locations in K’ia for both #1 and #2
(e) probated wills for #1 and #2
(f) actual date of emigration for #3, name of ship(s), route by which he travelled, date of arrival in Canada (if he went direct)
(g) military records for #1 (are these kept at the National Archives?)
(h) school records for #3 (family records indicate “Göteborg høiskole”: does that mean Gothenberg University in Sweden?)
Thank you very much in advance, for any guidance you can provide.
