Im "hunting" for clues in the puzzle of my great grandfather. I am researching for a book I am writing to my two grandmothers. My grandfathers are both dead, I miss them deeply both, and I am dedicating the book to them.
My grandmother on my mother's side didnt know her father that well, she was born only a month before she was born, and he returned about 1932/1933. He died in a tragic motorcycle accident in Norway 1946.
I am hoping to find some more clues on him over there, so I can give my grandmother a chance to get to know her father a bit better before her days are over.
Here is the informartion that I have:
NAME:
Peder Ingvald Johansen Løtoft (Lotoft)
Born: November 23rd 1901 in Sokndal, Hauge i Dalane, Rogaland, NORWAY
Married to Anne Marie Frøytlog
HIS TRAVEL:
- Boarded a ship in Stavanger, Norway june 10th 1929 heading for Newcastle.
## I dont know what ship, or when he arrived. Did he take the train afterwords?
- Boarded Cunard Line's "Ausonia (2)" June 14th 1929
## I need a high res. picture of the passenger list
- Arrived in Quebec as landed immgrant June 22nd 1929.
- Took the C.N.R train to Winnipeg, Manitoba
- Found farmwork
## I dont know where he lived or worked. I have some photos developed in Melfort and Regina.
- He worked on a horse farm/ranch or something. After he got back home, a couple of years later, he got a letter telling him that the horses had kicked to death the owner of the ranch he lived on.
- He worked with a Norwegian man born in Kananda
- He went back home around 1932/1933, I have NO documentaion of this.
- On a photo there is a car, how many cars in Canada 1929?
Any clues on him would be great!
Hope you can help ,)
Kenneth.
