info on GG Grandfather Gunder Erickson

hi, I'm looking for any info on my GG Grandfather Gunder Erickson b. abt 1813, wife Isabel and son Erick b 1848. Their next son Ole born in 1850 in Whitewater Wisconsin. I do not find them in the 1850 census, but find them in the 1860 census. According to his death cert, his fathers name was Erick and his mothers name was Carrie. According to family lore, he came from Oslo, but I have no proof- then again, family lore said his name was Oscar- so who knows[:D] Any help would be appriciated- Thanks Shelly
