Thank you all again for your help in finding information on Ingeborg Engen. After looking through all the data provided I realized it is not Ingeborg whose ancestry I need. None of the names associated with her were familiar to me. Then I read the name of the woman she traveled with on the Hellig Olav, and her name, both last and first, along with the name of the person they would be staying with -- Louis Anderson -- were familiar. I know of a current day Louis Anderson in Minnesota, and am guessing he could have been named after his. . . grandfather/greatgrandfather. And there had been a Marie Slette (sometimes spelled Sletteh/Sletto), and a Pauline Haugen. Do not know how this all fits together, or if Marie Slettohaugen is who I have been searching for afterall. My guess is Ingeborg's trunk was left at Louis Anderson's home, but she was not a relative. Wouldn't a trunk be a valuable belonging in those days? Something not easily left behind? Would love any information on Marie Slettohaugen, again greatly appreciating your kind generosity!
