Is Olous a Norwegian name

My records (no official documents) show my Great-Grandfather's name as Charles Olous Toycen (son of Swen and Catherine Toycen). He was born 1/21/1855 in Winchester Wisconsin. Another family member is questioning Olous as a Norwegian name and is thinking it could be Olaus. Any thoughts? Thank you Ellen
