It sounds Norwegian!!

Hi I am a new member on this website and I discovered it looking for Norwegian genealogy websites. I just discovered that my last name does not have a meaning in other languages but that in Norwegian it makes perfectly sense. Does the name SKUTESE means FLEET in English (or is it the plural of Skute?) ???? And if so, is it a common last name in Norway? And if it is Norwegian, where can I find records of Norwegians migrating from their homeland to Southern Europe? Aurora
