Jacob and Gabriel Fjar

Jacob and Sevorine V. Fjar (Swenson) married in 1882, in 1900 they were living in Tansem township, Clay County, Minnesota both came from Norway. The spelling came from the census, could be Tjar and Severine? Gabriel and Anna Fjar came from Norway and lived in Towner, North Dakota. Severine W. died 1921, Anna O. died in 1933 and Gabriel died in 1936 all in Towner. We are trying to find out if these people are related, if so how, when they arrived, where in Norway did they come from? Thanks for all your help.
