I am searching for my ancestors who emigrated in 1864 from near Tromso, Norway through Quebec, Canada into Minnesota, USA. The information I have is that they lived near Tromso and that the father was a fisherman. The family name was Americanized/translated to GIANTVALLEY from the Norwegian: KJOMPDAHL (best guess as to spelling). I do not know the names of the Father or Mother, but there were 5 children. The youngest was my great-grandfather, Bernard or Bainard, who was only a few months old (born January 18, 1854) when they left Norway. Hannah (female) was probably the oldest child, about 10 years old. There was another sister, Ellen, and two more brothers, Jeremiah and Martin. From what I have seen of ship departure lists from this time, the best possibility I have found is the ship BERGEN which departed Tromso on May 15, 1864 and landed in Quebec on June 27 (ID 207). Is there a passenger listing available for this sailing? Thank you ror your help.
