Kristian Olsen, born February 28, 1879, in Oppland

I am "hunting" for my maternal grandmother's uncle Kristian Olsen, who was born February 28, 1879, in Bagn in South Aurdal, Oppland county. His parents were Ole Olsen Spangerud and Barbro Knutsdaughter. Kristian's confirmation took place May 28, 1893, at the same place that he was born. In the book about the county (South Aurdal), the text says that he left for the US - and that's all. I can't find him in the censuses of 1900 or 1910, so he must have left between 1893 and 1900. Could you please help me in looking for him? Yours Anne Brit Benum in Oslo [;)]
