Kristian Rustand of Sole gaard in Eggedal

Would appreciate help in tracking down relatives of my wife's. The son in question was named Kristian Rustand. He left on a ship bound for America in 1884, but whether he migrated there on his own or with his father is as yet unclear. His father's name was Sebjørn Engebretsen Rustand, born at Nore in Buskerud county in 1838. He later sold his farm in Sole, Eggedal(Buskerud) in 1876 and a year later had settled in Sande in Vestfold county. The problem here is: Did father and son Rustand leave for America TOGETHER in 1884, or did only the son, Kristian Rustand, make it there?
