Looking for Everson in Noway

I was wondering if someone that is familar with Norway could help me. My grandfather Martin Everson was from Odalen Norway. When researching do I look only into Odalen to find him or is there communitys within Odalen and possibly farms or farm names that I should be looking for? Martin was born 1873-5 some of his records state 1873 some 1875. I don't have a name for his father however according to his death certificate his mother's name was Elizabeth which I feel could be accurate because there are Elizabeth in our family. My aunt and cousin and my middle name also. However no maiden name for her. I just don't know which way to go from here. I've looked in the Census in Norway but there are a lot of Eversons. Thank You Barb[:)]
