I am trying to find any info about my grandfather. This is just what I've been told about him. His name was Louis Hogan Nord. Was told that he may have been a stow away on a ship and when he got close to New York he jumped ship and swam ashore. He made his way to the coal mines in southern West Virginia. (Logan) He was killed in coal mines in August 7, 1930. He was 40 years old. There was some talk that he had a wife and two children before he came to USA but they were killed. Also was told that he was adopted by the Nord family, that his last name was Hogan. My dad's family would not tell him very much about his father. Everyone was very secretive about him. If anyone could tell me anything about him or lead me in the right direction on how to find anything about him, I would be so very grateful. If you can't tell, I'm a newbie to this
. Thanks for anything, Ann
