Looking for information

Hi, I am new to this forum. Recently I have been looking for information about the Irgens/Fredland family. The Father of that family, Paul Fredland Irgens would be my great-great GrandpaSo far I have found out that they lived in a place called Forseth (I have found this place on google earth but I have also seen it be called "Fredland"), and they emigrated to Canada in on July 23rd, 1908 on the "Tasso". I know that before they emigrated their last name was "Irgens", once they arrived in Canada they changed their last name to "Fredland". The questions I am looking to answer are: Why did they emigrate to Canada? How do I find their passenger list on this site? I have only found the Tasso line that goes to Hull, England. How can I go about finding pictures of them?
