Lyng

I am trying to locate Lyng Island. My greatgrandfather's family left this island to come to America and I have been told that when the oldest son leaves home it is customary to take the name of his home. My mother's maiden name is Lyng. I have looked on many maps and have not found it. Maybe it has changed it's name. Any help would be appreciated. Kimberley L. M. Rider at [email hidden]
