Mina Mikkelsdatter

Note: Mina's brother, Lars, was the topic of a previous posting by Gordon McMann. The information from his posting has been very helpful, but I still have a few questions. Mina Mikkelsdatter was my grandmother. She was born in 1874 to Mikkel Jenssen and Karen Poulsdatter at Stor-Deglum farm, Furnes Parish, Hedmark. She emigrated 20 Mar 1891 to West Salem on the Angelo, but I cannot find record of her arrival in the U.S. Is there a record of her birth? Is the Stor-Deglum farm still in existence? My sister and I plan a trip to Norway summer 2009. Although I believe all of Mikkel and Karen's children emigrated, I would like to know if there are others related to this family who would be interested in Mina and her American family. How would I contact a newspaper with this request? Thank you for any information. Judy Foley
