MINCKS name

Hello Everyone. I am researching the Mincks family. I have them in the UK in the early 1800's but I don't know where they came from before that. Will someone please tell me if Mincks is a Norwegian name. I know that they are a family of Mariners so I am trying all the seafaring nations to see if anyone recognizes the name. Thank you Arky
