24 hours doesn't seem a long time, but I have an incredible capacity to forget quickly. Here is some info for your benefit. I'd send you an email, but my gmail account is not synced with the email feature on my laptop, and I probably don't want to be anyway.
If you would like to send me an email (which you know since you control this website) than I can send the images I cannot attach here that are located on my laptop (which I downloaded from subscription sites). I would love to post those images here, but I don't think that is possible on this forum. Here is my email letter without the images:....
Mr. Solem,
Below is the title page of the manifest of S/S Rugia as it arrived in NYC on 23 June 1883. It shows a Captain Albers to be the captain of this steam ship. A December 1882 newspaper advertisement promoting the new ship Rugia, states that this same Captain is aboard her and transferred from another ship. (See attached 8 Dec 1882 NY Times article). On Monday 18 June 1883, the NY Times then posts about the Saturday, 23 June expected arrival of S/S Rugia, confirming the manifest.
Thanks for what you do!
