The 1900 Hisø census lists my grandfather's occupation as Billedhugger (sculptor?). http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f00922&gardpostnr=428&personpostnr=2458&merk=2458#ovre I never heard of my grandfather working in anything but the sheet metal trade (his last major project was stainless steel work atop New York's Chrysler Building). He was also a tinkerer and smalltime inventor on the side. But a sculptor...? Is the term billedhugger strictly related to fine-arts, or does it also shade into more artisanal crafts? Thanks, JK John Knudsen New York, NY USA
