Paternal Naming Patterns

Hi, I've just gotten use to the Norwegian naming pattern: Last name of child is fathers first name with either sen (for male) or datter (for female) added to it, when I find a family where that is NOT the case. I believe the info I have on this family is correct but I am second guessing it because of the deviation from the naming pattern. Can you help? This is what I have: Kristian DYRESEN b 1/18/1866 in Stange m Petronelle JANSDATTER b abt 1864 in Valset. They married 2/10/1888 in Valset and had the following children: Didrick DYRESEN b 5/19/1889 in Valset Hanna DYRESEN b abt 1890 in Valset Jorgen DYRESEN b abt 1892 in Valset Anne DYRESEN b abt 1894 in Valset Konrad DYRESEN b 7/9/1897 in Vang Petra Dyresen b 11/8/1899 in Kristiana Based on the previouos generations naming pattern, shouldn't the children's last name be Kristiansen or Kristiandatter? Did I put the children with the wrong parents? Thought i was getting the hang of researching in Norway, but now I'm not so sure[:)] I appreciate any direction you might give, Regards, Nancy A.
