Peter Lassesen Vestnys

My great-great grandfather came to California from Norway in the 1850s. He was born in 1835 in More & Romsdal province. I believe the town, village, was called Vest Nes. His father was Lasse Pedersen. After marrying in Calif and raising 11 children he returned to Norway. Any help would be appreciated.[:)]
