Seeking records on my grandparents Lewis (Lars) Rohde/Rody or Rote and wife Ingre (Gerald/Jerald) who had emigrated from Voss farms in Norway abt 1901 (Lars may have been to U.S. earlier), and later lived in Black Brook, Polk county, Wisc. area in early 1900's. They had 5 children, Martha (b. 1901), Theodor, Edwin, and twins Ida Louise and Oscar (b. 1913 - my mom and uncle). Lewis supposedly died in July 1917 after being struck by lightening in Deronda, Wisc. and later Inger and children moved to Ludington, Mich. in the early 1920's. Her death record only shows her father's name listed as "Gerald" and mother's name unknown. I don't know for sure if grandparents were both born in Voss or any circumstances about their extended families, if any. My mother is now 97 and can only recall a married sister of Lewis named Kari Jurness who also lived in Polk county, Wisc.with her husband Mads and chidren during same time period. Also interested in any school or church records of my grandparents in Norway or their children in Wisc. for any time period. Thanks, Sue
