I am looking for someone who can help me figure out information from Norway on a family who immigrated to the USA in 1842 on the ship Emilie. The names on the ship list are as follows 14 Christopher Hellicksen Førlie 48 m man - tiller 15 Gunbiør Hellicksdatter Førlie* 40 f wife G. N: Gunbjørg Helliksdatter Solheim 16 Hellik Christophersen Førlie* 21 m bachelor 17 Christopher Christophersen Førlie* 10 m boy 18 Joran Christophersdatter Førlie* 6 f child The names changed once they came to the state of Illinois in the USA to Christopher Farley b: 1792 in Norway. He died in Muskego Wisconsin shortly after arriving in the USA. His wife and 3 children then moved from Muskego Wis to Adams Township, LaSalle Co., IL. Her name in the USA was Combjor Farley. She died 1859 in Adams, Township, LaSalle Co., IL All our census records say she was born in Norway. The childrens names in the US were Hellick C Farley b: abt May 1 1818-1821 in Norway. He died in Adams Twp. Christopher Farley son b: May 15 1832 in Norway and died Aug 11 1895 in Adams Twp., The girl in the passenger list went by the name Julia Farley. born: Dec 27 1836 in Norway and died Oct 18 1918 in Adams Twp., Julia's death notice states she was born in Kronsberg, Norway. I have followed them threw the census records here in the US., I have looked for death notices for them only to locate Julia's here in the US. I am hoping someone might be able to help me locate them. It's my understanding that the name Forlie (o with a line through it) might be a surname from a farm, perhaps there is one in the county Kronsberg, Norway. Several questions I have on the family are, 1.) were there more children born to Christopher and Combjor? there is a 11 year gap between Hellick and ths son Christopher. 2.) Who would Christopher and Combjor's parents are and info about them. 3.) What date did Christopher and Combjor get married. Anything anyone can help me with would be wonderful!
